Several Delegations Visit Wuhan CBD Comprehensive Underground Pipe Gallery

After Li Keqiang,Premier of the State Council, investigated Wuhan CBD comprehensive underground pipe gallery and fully recognized the project mode onMay 24, several delegations from national commissions and ministries and local governments came to conduct on-site investigation and study of the comprehensive underground pipe gallery in CBD.


On the morning of May28, Vice-minister of Housing and Urban-Rural Development Ni Hong, accompaniedby Wang Li, Deputy Mayor of Wuhan City, investigated the construction of the comprehensive underground pipe gallery in CBD and highly appraised and recognized the pipegallery construction.




On the morning of May30, member of the Standing Committee of CPC Inner Mongolia Autonomous Regionand Hohhot Municipal Party Committee Nashun Menghe led a Party and Government Delegation to investigate the comprehensive underground pipe gallery in CBD. Afterthe investigation, Nashun Menghe expressed that, Wuhan has made innovations inthe urban planning concept, and conducted fine city management with the help ofInternet; Hohhot should learn the advanced experience from Wuhan, and avoid detoursand waste of money in the future urban planning, construction and management.


In addition, theXinhua News Agency Hubei Branch, etc. also conducted an investigation.


The 6.1km long Wuhan CBD comprehensive underground pipe gallery, as the first comprehensive pipegallery in Wuhan, has become the starting point of the whole urban pipe network and an example of the urban pipeline in Wuhan, setting a milestone in thelong-term urban construction. Just as what Premier Li Keqiang once said: “the Chinese cities were full of high-rise buildings with good momentum, but they fell farbehind with the advanced countries in terms of the depth and width ofunderground space utilization. The underground space was an important part ofthe city with huge potential resources, and we should make full use ofresources to expand new space and rebuild Wuhan into a new city.”
